What a surprise! In September 2024 I have been invited to race the Shadow DN5 in the Historic Master Series at Spa Francorchamps. That car has been race-prepared by… Michael Jakeman and his team. I had not seen Michael since… 1990 when he was working as a mechanic on my Williams Renault F1 car! It was so nice to see him again and I must say that the experience of driving the DN5 prepared by MJ Tech at Spa (in the rain of course) was just fabulous.
Earlier this year I have been invited to another classic event worth the trip, the Adelaide Motorsport Festival. The organisers asked me to drive the 1990 Adelaide GP winner for a demo run. That car ran so well, it was no surprise to me to hear that this one too has been maintained and race-prepared by Michael and his team.
Two out of two, brilliant, very enjoyable!
